Making African violet cuttings is the easiest thing. You just need a healthy African violet plant and a few glass jars. The leaf cuttings sprout in water.
You Will Need
African violet plant
scissors
small glass jars
water
Cut the large outer leaves at the base at an angle.
You can even use damaged leaves with much success.
Stick the leaves in a small jar with just enough water to cover the end of the stem. Make sure that only the stem is touching the water -- African violets do not like to keep water on their leaves.
Keep the ends covered until they begin to root. (Once the roots are healthy you can transfer the cutting to small pot with soil. I suggest an Africa violet specific soil mixture and a shallower pot over a deeper one.)
Sometimes the cuttings also put on leaves near the roots.
I have to keep a bird cage over my violet and cuttings.
Because of these things (who were just to the side of me the entire time; watching, waiting.)
